About Us

Our Initiative

Teen Health Journals is a unique initiative designed to engage teenagers with the dynamic world of medical professions. Our program provides young individuals with the opportunity to explore and write about various careers in healthcare, from doctors and nurses to researchers and public health experts. Through thoughtful interviews and in-depth articles, teens gain firsthand insights into the daily realities and impact of these professions. By facilitating direct interactions with seasoned health professionals, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of the medical field, inspire future careers in healthcare, and encourage informed decision-making among the next generation. At Teen Health Journals, we are committed to nurturing curiosity and passion in young minds, helping them envision their potential roles in shaping the future of medicine.

Hello! My name is Christine Okon, and I am a rising junior in Houston, Texas. I aspire to be in the pre-med field at the moment, but I have an overall love for health science and biomedical engineering. I love makeup, hair, nails, checkers, volunteering, and taking courses in my personal time. You can describe me as cool-headed and rational; it's hard to make me mad, and I'm always the peacemaker in an argument. Someone I look up to is my mother; she managed to make a life for us through love and grit. My favorite color is light blue, and I love butterflies!
